The National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) has been actively building up its licensing and marketing division since it recently took back player group licensing rights from the NBA. As it grows, that division — called THINK450 — is adding staff and the most recent job opening is for Associate Counsel.
It appears to be a pretty sweet gig for anyone who has already become licensed to practice law in the State of New York and graduated from a “top-tier” law school. Additionally, THINK450 is looking for an individual who already has at least four years’ experience at a “top law firm” or similar in-house experience.
“The position will include drafting and negotiating agreements relating to trademark licensing, content creation and distribution (e.g., television and digital media licensing), events, technology partnerships, and advisory work in the area of corporate governance,” states the job posting.
As such, a background in intellectual property licensing, digital media, technology and sponsorship is preferred.
The open position is based in New York.
