Esports Franchise Immortals Aligns With St. Jude In Charity Based Partnership

Global esports organization Immortals is promising to raise $500,000 over two years to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The partnership includes participation of the Immortals Overwatch League franchise Los Angeles Valiant.
Immortals’ promise to raise the significant capital expands upon the Los Angeles Valiant’s pre-existing charitable contributions to St. Jude. In 2018, the team raised thousands of dollars through a “Be Valiant” event series and “Live the Legacy” playoff campaign.
It is good to see esports organizations committing themselves to philanthropic endeavors.
“It is part of our organizational DNA to give back to the communities that we serve and represent,” said Immortals Executive Chairman Noah Whinston. “We believe wholeheartedly in the mission of St. Jude, and it is an honor to work with a partner that shares our values of inclusivity.” It’s incredible that families at St. Jude never receive a bill, so they can focus on what matters most — helping their child live.”
The new partnership begins on December 19 with Immortals team player Joshua “Ah Craaaap” Sharon hosting a six-hour stream on Twitch that begins at 12:00pm PST. Viewers will be able to donate monies through the stream. Immortals also plans to sell cobranded LA Valiant and St. Jude merchandise, with proceeds going to charity.
Investors in the Immortals esports organization include AEG, Lionsgate and former Hewlett Packard CEO Meg Whitman.
